Welcome

 Welcome to Kashallan Press!

Here you will find works by celebrated author Celu Amberstone. Her novels, short stories, and nonfiction books have been enjoyed for years by readers and academics alike. As many of her works have gone out of print, Celu is thrilled these books will now be available again in new editions. In addition, new novels will complete previous series and expand the fiction available from Celu through Kashallan Press.

The literary works of Celu Amberstone are of particular attraction for those interested in Canadian and North American literature by writers of aboriginal heritage. In both her fiction and nonfiction writing, Celu draws on her Cherokee and Celtic history to bring strong cultural elements to her prose. Many of her novels have aspects of speculative fiction and magic realism. In some of her works are elements of the new genres of eco-fiction and eco-gothic fiction.
Each of her books is being released in ebook format and soon in print and audiobook formats as well. Look here on Kashallan Press website for links to where her books can be purchased from your favourite online vendors, and information for ordering them through bookstores as well.

Why are books from Kashallan Press available from so many online vendors? Lots of reasons! Online vendors are a great way to get copies of ebooks (and print books). Some vendors curate a selection of books, some carry as many books as they find compatible. If a reader wants to support a local or domestic business or an independent, there are a number of choices as well as the most famous vendors. Libraries are another great way to read books (in print or ebook or audiobook formats). Magazines and movies are available too. Kashallan Press makes our books available through libraries using several different systems, one of which is Hoopla.  Lately, there's been word of some Kashallan Press titles being borrowed through Hoopla, which is always good news. Glad to say that one of these books is Celu Amberstone's novel The Dream-Chosen , first in her series Tales of the Kashallans . Here's hoping that reader knows where to find the other seven books in the series. Celu is current...

Happy New Year! and 2024's most popular titles

It's wonderful at the beginning of the new year 2025 to look back on the previous year's most popular titles. And this year, there is a tie! It's true. The most popular book of 2024 for Kashallan Press is not one, but TWO books. One is  Blessings of the Blood , first in our series Rituals , and the other is The Dream-Chosen , first in our series Tales of the Kashallans . Both of these titles are available as ebooks and paperbacks, and plans are being made for audiobook editions. It's a treat to see both of these books -- one fiction, one nonfiction -- so popular in both ebook and paperback formats. In 2025, look to see a finish to the series Tales of the Kashallans with Book 9. And there are plans ahead for a possible new volume to the Ritual series as well. All Kashallan Press titles can be found at this link: books2read.com/amberstone where you can click on any book's cover to learn more and order it from over a dozen online vendors. Or request paperbacks at yo...

Winter reading

February is ending, and winter is starting to turn towards spring. Time to read another in the Tales of the Kashallan series! Here's a link for Treacherous Campaign , as ebook or paperback: https://books2read.com/b/treacherouscampaign   Treacherous Campaign is the eighth book in the series Tales of the Kashallans, by celebrated author Celu Amberstone. For fans of the 'Hundred Worlds' approach used in Star Trek and in Golden Age magazines, there are diverse settings and cultures along the journey taken by these human and alien characters. Nathan and Phillip, with their symbiotes, strain to lead the Kashallan Alliance against their Ghostlander enemies. They must learn to trust native war magics as well as their own off-world technology, as all resources are needed to protect them in this struggle. And what can Tessa do if her human body is not strong enough for the fighting that her own inner Demon must win, to protect them all?
