Trending on some platforms!

Why are books from Kashallan Press available from so many online vendors? Lots of reasons!

Online vendors are a great way to get copies of ebooks (and print books). Some vendors curate a selection of books, some carry as many books as they find compatible. If a reader wants to support a local or domestic business or an independent, there are a number of choices as well as the most famous vendors.

Libraries are another great way to read books (in print or ebook or audiobook formats). Magazines and movies are available too. Kashallan Press makes our books available through libraries using several different systems, one of which is Hoopla.

Lately, there's been word of some Kashallan Press titles being borrowed through Hoopla, which is always good news. Glad to say that one of these books is Celu Amberstone's novel The Dream-Chosen, first in her series Tales of the Kashallans. Here's hoping that reader knows where to find the other seven books in the series. Celu is currently writing what she expects will be the ninth and final book to finish the series.

Another of Celu Amberstone's books that is popular this month on Hoopla is also trending on Smashwords: it's her nonfiction book Blessings of the Blood. Both this book and its sequel Deepening the Power are doing well in some categories of Smashwords. Soon Smashwords will be hosting their July/August sale, in which all of Kashallan Press's ebooks will be discounted, and some free. So be sure to look for Celu's books on Smashwords this summer at this link!

Happy New Year! and 2024's most popular titles

It's wonderful at the beginning of the new year 2025 to look back on the previous year's most popular titles. And this year, there is a tie! It's true. The most popular book of 2024 for Kashallan Press is not one, but TWO books. One is  Blessings of the Blood , first in our series Rituals , and the other is The Dream-Chosen , first in our series Tales of the Kashallans . Both of these titles are available as ebooks and paperbacks, and plans are being made for audiobook editions. It's a treat to see both of these books -- one fiction, one nonfiction -- so popular in both ebook and paperback formats. In 2025, look to see a finish to the series Tales of the Kashallans with Book 9. And there are plans ahead for a possible new volume to the Ritual series as well. All Kashallan Press titles can be found at this link: books2read.com/amberstone where you can click on any book's cover to learn more and order it from over a dozen online vendors. Or request paperbacks at yo...

Snowstorms here!

There are snowstorms here at Kashallan Press, and also in many other places this winter. Time to find a good book and curl up by the fire. Have you read the latest two books in the series Tales of the Kashallans yet? Number seven in this series is Kashallan Alliance , and it's a strong story that covers a lot of ground. Phillip thought of himself only as a scientist. When he took on a Khutani symbiote he became a kashallan, to communicate for these great beings among all the races of the world Timorna. Now he's a respected leader on a mission to cross the Shallow Sea. With his young symbiote Yoey, Phillip must form alliances among warring clans in preparation for a dangerous future. Not all the clans agree, and the demon Tessa carries has its own agenda. Even the Khutani are not of one mind about what shall be done.   "This is a richly detailed fantasy/space opera that is positively addictive. Celu Amberstone has the knack of weaving elaboration and action into...

Opinions for a Twitter Colloquium

For a Twitter Colloquium on Self-Publishing, here are some of author Celu Amberstone's thoughts in this discussion:    I think there are advantages and disadvantages to self-publishing. I am a mixed-race, Indigenous author and for that reason my writing perspective is different than what the established publishing industry is used to. I have been told many times by New York agents and editors, in their refusal letters, “Your writing is great, but I don’t know how to market your books.” But with help from online sites like D2D or Smash words I have been able to offer my books in reputable stores like Amazon and Barnes & Noble nonetheless. Self-publishing isn’t a shortcut to fame and glory, however. It means you have to do, yourself, much that would have been done in the past by a traditional publisher. So, if you want to have your writing treated seriously, then you have to do the work needed to insure the books you offer are the very best you can...
